A big post of a little update

I am SO bad about staying on top of projects! I got half way through my 365 project (literally half way! within a few days of exactly!). Here are some of my favorites:

Day 20

Day 27

Day 43

Day 87

Day 89

Day 139 part a

Day 200

I would LOVE to hear from people on which photos they like and why!

I think I just got too lazy toward the end plus too much work and school.
Although to occupy my free time now I'm relearning to draw so one day I can try to paint.
We'll see how long that lasts...

Back in Action

It's been awhile since I updated this thing. My laptop has been out of commission, I got a job, and schools been aggressive. blah blah excuses

Well I love my job and I got a new laptop cord!

And my 366 project
is going very well!

A walk

Today was clear and beautiful. It feels like Spring.
And something is blooming in my neighborhood that smells amazing.

Winter Wares

I'm really into jackets lately. I just got a cute coat from Value Village that looks like this
(but it's a pale army green almost tan color)

I REALLY want this jacket
but I'm guessing the next two will be easier to pair with my wardrobe.

Mostly I just want a chic army style jacket like an amazing one I got from my sister years ago. Sadly I wasn't into fashion back then so I gave it to Goodwill. That is always the case when it comes to me clearing out my closet. Moral = never get rid of clothes!

1/12/12

This morning I woke up to a story that made me outraged and want to cry. A close friend of an amazing group of people I know posted a horror story HERE of just how cruel and ridiculous police have become (and are getting away with it). There is a site where people are raising money for this poor dog called HELP ATHENA. All I can say is I hope she gets justice.

On a happier note I got some great results from my self portrait shoot today for my 365 project! Here are my favorites:

I ended up using this one for day 12.

And this is my new profile picture. I love the softness and vintage look of it!
And this one which Grant says my expression makes me look like a statue.

Oh and this is my newest head piece. I got the inspiration from a real flower crown I did for a friend's wedding. She designed it based off of an Alphonse Mucha.

Update

I'm thinking about deleting this. I'm a lousy writer and I don't post enough to get people interested. I'm happy to say how involved and excited I am in my 365 project. It's forcing me to try new things. I actually started using a tripod! Maybe my photoshop skills can improve also. And blogger doesn't always let me upload photos :(

Flickr

My 365
project is a little different than what I was going to do. Not sure yet if I want to do face shots only or a mixture of full body & face shots.Guess I'll figure that out in the next few days.

Year Long Project

I decided this was the year for me to start following through with projects. I have drawing projects I want to finish, jewelry, clay, light, and sewing. So why not add a photography project too! I have been inspired by many 365 photography days but I like this one the best. I started it yesterday when I was recovering from a hangover...go me!

My birthday present!

This is the project I started and was determined to finish on my birthday.
It's more or less finished (I sewed one of the shoulders poorly so I have to take it apart and do it again).
I'll get it right by New Year's!

Almost out of time!

I've been working on the project for my birthday and of course I get sick. I did manage to put up some snowflakes.

(and when blogger is working I will try to post more pics of the snowflakes I made)

Something worth reading!

On my hunt for snowflake patterns this morning I discovered a blog. I don't usually get into blogs that aren't about clothes, fashion, or crafts (I know...close minded) but this was really cute and I have never seen anything like it before.

Welcome.Home.

The continuing story of the little elf named Snowflake is such a good idea (and a little cheesy) but that's what makes Christmas fun!

Fashion Fur

I started a sewing project on Friday. Here's some inspiration to help me want to finish it this week:

Week after Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving week is over but I'm still eating delicious turkey so I've become kinda lazy. I haven't been doing things with flowers recently but,

I'm working on things for X-mas. I forgot how much fun snowflakes are.

Maybe I'll do a post dedicated to just snowflake art.
I've also been making tons of delicious foods from cool blogs.
These are spicy lime tortilla chips I decided to make after reading
Delicieux
They are so good!

Cherry Blossom Branches

When I moved to Washington in April I saw my first cherry blossom tree. I had always thought they were pretty but now I want them to be annuals! But since they aren't I decided to make some.

The first step is going out in your neighborhood and collecting branches.

Take all your supplies: paper, scissors, glue, glue gun, pencil.

Cut out your paper cherry blossoms.

Then glue the white bit to the pink bit.

The last step is gluing the flowers to the branch. And there you have cherry blossom branches that last through the winter.

Feeling Uninspired?

Why not go on a date with your favorite boyfriend!

He'll probably be  so excited he'll do a little dance on the escalator.

( :) so cute)

I didn't get any amazing shots but the scenery was quite lovely.

The best part was the relaxing light rail ride. And then we got home and he made me dinner.

The shot of the day:

Jennifer Kaczmarek

This post is about an amazing photographer I know. I met Jen in 2006 and over the years we have done many photo shoots.

Some don't always make sense to me.

But she has an eye for scenes which always tell the best stories.

After a short time I gave up questioning her ideas and came to trust her judgment.

Once I saw the photographs she could capture it wasn't hard to convince me to do some weird poses.

Because I knew even if she caught me doing this it would come out beautiful.

All of these photographs were taken by Jen and you can see more of her work on her blog and website by clicking on her links.

Floral Alchemy Etsy Shop

I started an Etsy Shop, finally, after wanting to for so long.

With any luck I'll get a job soon and get all my headbands on there.

(If only I could dye my hair each time so it always looks like a new model :))

I'm working on one now that's a little more extravagant than I would normally do.

I love my little photo shoots! I create a studio in my living room and then have to clean it up quickly before my boyfriend gets home.

Autumn in Seattle

This is my first official Fall. I'm from Florida, where leaves don't do a damn thing.

So this is pretty amazing to me.

Walking around my neighborhood has become quite an experience.

I mean, come on, how can anyone not be blown away by this?

I hope that for as long as I live here I will always find this beautiful.
